Making Peace with Your Body

What really means “Making Peace with Your Body”?

Have you ever thought how important it is to be in complete peace with the body what you have? Our society have so much pressure on us and how we should look. As a model I see young girls everyday trying to live up to certain kind of standards. We don’t realize that we are paying too much unnecessary attention to look certain way for somebody else. We often lose ourselves trying to better ourselves.

But what if we stop living for somebody or something else? What if you decide to start loving your body the way it is? What if you take a good care of your body with healthy eating habits and regular training and feel completely in peace, without having a need to prove anything to anybody? Do you know that you will feel so much more happier?

I have grown up in the industry(modeling) where I was and still am judged by body. Being a young teenager til this day I have learned so much what it means to really own your body. In past 8 years I have heard so many things from strangers about my body, and being judged about being too skinny or not skinny enough. I have learned that I am in charge of my body, I have to value what I have.

Connect with Your Body!

You are a one of the kind human being and your body is yours! Nobody can’t take it, nobody else can’t change it, but you. Connect with your body and become friends with it. Appreciate your differences, love your curves. Love the beauty what nature have gave you. Stop listening what outside world is telling you and start to feel your body. Become friends with your body and start saying good things to yourself about your body. Also it’s important to listen your body, because it’s often a lot smarter than we are. Learn to know your body, learn to understand what it likes and what it doesn’t. Don’t force your body to be something it’s not born to be.

Give Your Best to Be Your Best

Making peace doesn’t mean giving up. As I said before, we are in charge of our bodies! As humans we are made to be move. One part of respecting our body is respecting the functions we have. When you are born completely healthy and able to move, then I believe you should go for a run every day and feel the strength and power in you. Our bodies are as strong, fit, healthy, curvy as we make it to be. It’s all about finding balance between right eating habits, regular training. When we give our best, we will also look and feel our best. Nobody else in the world have power to change something about you, but you!

“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” – Jim Rohn

Appreciate Your Body

Let’s be honest here! There is not one perfect human being in this world! And that’s probably the most beautiful truth about life. We all have flaws and our flaws are what makes us special. Don’t let media or society brainwash you with perfection stories. The most perfect thing we ever can be is accepting our flaws and appreciating ourselves the way we are. Stop pushing yourself too much and appreciate the beauty what nature have gave you. Start to understand that you are unique and you should never want to change that.

You are what you eat

70% of our look depends on what we eat. When you have healthy eating habits, it shines out. With healthy eating habits, you detoxify your body, your skin will glows, you look better, but most of all you feel better. When you feel good in your body, you become more confident. Also healthy eating habits will give you more energy and you will be more motivated to work out and take care of yourself.

Respect Yourself

Being in peace with your body is all about doing all things with love and passion. Don’t work out too hard and don’t be too strict with your eating habits. When you feel pain or feel uncomfortable, then stop. Let your body enjoy doing those things. Everything is about the right balance. Balance between body and mind. Balance between healthy eating habits and regular training. Balance between indulgence and routine. Your body can only be it’s best when it is treated well with respect and love.

Enjoy the present moment

Stop rushing and just enjoy what you have right now. Everyday take few seconds to just look inside you and feel good about yourself. Close your eyes and just feel your body(every muscle, every bone, every heartbeat). The practice of Yoga is great way to improve your connection between body and mind. When you learn to breath and enjoying seconds of stillness, you will realize that you are already enough. Your body is exactly what it needs to be right now. Your body is like everything else in life, it changes and changes are healthy. Your body can’t be today what it used to be and your body won’t be the same tomorrow. Let go of the pressure and let your body grow and enjoy the changes inside you.

Only you can build your confidence. But do you know what? You don’t have to be confident, but you have to accept yourself the way you are. It’s okey to have flaws and it’s okey to feel insecure. But don’t put yourself down, own it and be proud of it. Everybody are beautiful in their own way. Treat yourself well, be connected with yourself and accept yourself. Love your body and give your best to feel good in your body, but you should never feel like you are in war with your body.
